When the episode ends, a row of buttons sits under the player. Tap Start Chatting and Lexie moves out of the screen in front of you and into a private thread. If I had to name the exact moment this flow turns human, it's that one. The woman answering you is the one you just watched, not a lookalike from a different menu.

From there, hit the media button in the chat, choose Send Photo and describe the scene in your own words. A photo of the same character arrives in about 20 to 45 seconds for 1 Star, and her face and body stay consistent with her avatar and her earlier photos. That consistency is what you're paying for (a companion who changes faces between photos isn't much of a companion).

Under that photo sits a one-tap Generate Video. It turns the same scene into a roughly 5-second clip in about a minute, for 10 Stars.

On a phone, the best companion feature isn't any single feature. It's never having to leave the thread.

Where Memory and the Chat List Earn Their Keep

Chat Settings are where you tune her to a small screen:

• Lust level: 1 (sweet) to 5 (unfiltered).
• Response length: 1 (short and snappy, which suits one-handed reading) to 5 (rich and immersive).
• Voice picker: choose how she sounds on playback.

Two small tools make one-thumb typing easier. The magic-wand button writes three suggested replies for when you don't feel like typing, and you can rate any reply from 1 to 5, then regenerate it if it came out phoned-in. Neither is flashy. Together, though, they're exactly what you want at 1 a.m. on a cracked screen.

My one real gripe is the two-currency setup, and it's the actual cost driver. The plan gets you in; Stars decide how much you create. If you mostly chat, watch and ask for the occasional photo, PRO's monthly 100 Stars stretch a long way. Generating video every night is a different budget, so plan on packs.

Who GoLove.ai Is NOT For

• Anyone who wants a fully free, unlimited app. The free tier is a tasting menu, not a full meal.
• Anyone who only installs from Google Play. Check how GoLove is offered on your phone first.
• Anyone looking for a human relationship. She's a companion, not a substitute.

Where I'd Start on Your Phone Tonight

Say you've watched both free episodes of "My AI Girlfriend" and you're deciding whether to stay. Don't decide on the episodes alone. Tap Start Chatting, talk to Lexie for a few minutes, then ask for a photo, and make it something specific to your conversation rather than a generic request. The episode only shows you the cast. The chat shows whether she stays the same person once it's just you.

Not quite your type? Open Create from the bottom bar. The wizard starts with Female or Trans and Realistic or Anime, while Design with AI skips the form entirely: you describe her in plain text, up to 2,000 characters, and in about a minute you get a named character with her own @handle, a written bio and a portrait. New characters are Private by default, so nobody else sees her unless you decide otherwise.

If you mostly sit at a laptop and want generation bundled into one subscription, OurDream is a reasonable choice. On an Android phone, GoLove.ai is an easy recommend. The episode, the chat, the photo and the video all stay one thumb-tap apart, and she keeps the thread between them.

Two thousand characters is enough to describe exactly who you want waiting in that chat list tomorrow, and she's ready in about a minute.
